TEDxJakartaLive: TEDGlobal 2011
This July, TEDxJakarta will bring you a full-day TED experience in the form of a slightly delayed live screening from the third day of TEDGlobal2011: The Stuff of Life
TEDGlobal itself is TED’s twin conference. It was held in Oxford, UK, in 2005, 2009 and 2010, and in Arusha, Tanzania, in 2007. TEDGlobal is now held annually in Edinburgh, UK, each summer. The themes of the global conference are slightly more international in nature, but the full TED format is maintained.
In this event, we will be screening never-before-seen talks that are not yet available to public. Speakers from various fields such as techno-illusionist, rational optimist, and even underworld investigator will be sharing their ideas in the topics of: Future Billions, Emerging Order, The Dark Side, and Bodies.
For us: It will be a learning experience like no other!

TEDxLive is an extension of the TEDx program, launched by TED in 2010. TEDxLive events are TEDx events built around the live webcast of TED Conferences. TEDxLive events enable TED enthusiasts all over the world to experience live sessions of the TED Conference; events can be simple viewing events, and may also host live speakers.
Venue & Time
TEDxJakartaLive will take place on Thursday, July 14th, 2011 from 11:00 AM ~ 8:15 PM at @america – Pacific Place, 3rd Floor. Door opens at 10:30 AM. Please note that no foods and drinks are allowed inside the venue.
Attending the event
Attendance is free of charge and open to public.
No need to register beforehand. Just come on the event day.
However, you can indicate that you plan to attend in the TEDxJakartaLive Facebook Event Page
… and help us spread the word by clicking the “Select Guests to Invite” button under the logo.
As this is a free-flowing event, seating is first come first served. There’s a maximum capacity at the auditorium, so we advise you to come earlier before each session/talk for the best seats. Once each talk in each session begins, doors will be closed. We will provide a screen to watch the talk from outside the auditorium. Once the talk concludes, you can try to get in and find a seat.
